I'm a Traitor!!!!!

Momma's got a new toy!  Yes sir!

I have been a loyal Blackberry user for YEARS!

I mean really..I've had this one...

and this one...

and this one...

and lastly this one...

Recently, Hubby and I switched carriers because well....T-Mobile just flat out sucks.

We went to AT &T first because I just HAD to have the iPhone 4.  I got and well.....

I left it.  I think there was waaaay too much hype about it honestly.

Hubby on the other hand tried the HTC Inspire and loved it.  I began playing with his and well...

I LOVED IT TOO!

We decided to shop around more and give Sprint a try since the service AT&T has is barely any better than T-Mobile's coverage.

I must say...WE LOVE SPRINT!  LOVE. THEM. Coverage is great so far, customer service is great and the features we get for the price are wonderful!  Hubby and I are totally smitten.

We now have these babies....

The HTC EVO 4G.

I am sad to say that I may never return to the world of blackberry.  These apps have me sold.  The only complaint I have about this phone is that the battery life sucks!  Hopefully a lithium battery will fix this issue.   While the battery life is less than stellar, it's not a deal breaker for us.

Once more thing I love about this phone is that there is a free blogger app so I can post from my phone!

This means you will be hearing from me muuuch more!  I hope you are smiling!! :)

If ever one day I miss my blackberry...I'm sure there will be an app I can download on my HTC that will take care of that emotion. LOL

My Top 10 Mommy Must Haves

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I read almost every article I could find that would give me insight on what to buy and how to do things.

Some things I purchased were life savers.

Others, not so much.

I compiled a list of the top items that have made my life much easier as a Mom.

Enjoy!

1. Boppy-  This thing was wonderful!

2. Summer Infant Deluxe Day & Night Video Baby Monitor Saved us un-needed trips to Makenzie's room to check on her.

3. The Ultimate Crib Sheet- Those mattresses are made to fit the crib TIGHT. It was such a pain getting that crib sheet off when DD had an accident. The Ultimate Crib Sheet saved my sanity!

4. Homedics SoundSpa Lullaby Sound Machine aka The Baby Crack Machine- DD would not go to sleep without it! She is almost 9 months old and I still use it!

5. Wipe Warmer- I was against this when I was pregnant, but once DD felt that cold wipe for the first time, she made sure I knew, she wasn't having it. Now that she is older it doesn't bother her anymore but back then, she would have had my head had I touched her with a cold wipe. (Rubbing the wipe between my hands to heat it didn't work either)

6. Dorm-Size Fridge- I know most people won't do this but it worked well for us. We used to keep it in our room with fruit and water in case we got hungry or thirsty during the night. Once DD was born and sleeping in our room, we started storing my pumped milk in it.(Ours also had a nice size freezer in it) Once she started sleeping in the crib in her room, we moved it in her room too. This saved us from having to run downstairs in the middle of the night to feed her. Now that she is older, it's still in her room and I keep her food, juice and pre-made bottles in there.

7. Glider & Ottoman- I love our Glider. I have fallen asleep in it numerous times. This was money well spent.

8. Baby Delight Snuggle Nest- DD had a time where she wouldn't sleep in the crib or the bassinet. She would only sleep next to DH or myself. I was so afraid of rolling over on her and suffocating her that we got one of these bad boys. This thing was great! Although we only used it for a few weeks, It was well worth the money. DD slept much better and so did we. It has a hard shell around it that protect and stop you from touching him/her in case you roll during sleep. Although the picture doesn't show it, ours came with a sleep positioner. This kept DD from rolling around inside of it.

9. Skip Hop Diaper Bag- This bag has so much room! All the pockets and zippers give you ample room to keep things organized. Another feature I like is its ability to hang easily off a stroller because of it's built in inner straps. This makes it easy to get what I need without having to bend down and fish for the bag out of the stroller basket.

10. Munchkin Powdered Formula Dispenser- Once I had to bring formula into the mix, this helped so much when traveling. I still use it to this day. Simply fill each section with enough powder to make one bottle and go. Don't forget the water though!! This had made traveling and being out f the house much easier!

Y3W: My Guilty Pleasures

I have a confession to make.

I'm embarrassed to say that I can not go without some these things.

Scroll down and don't judge me.

Teen Mom
As a mother and step mother to 2 daughters, I should HATE this show right?  Wrong.  I'm feel so wrong for watching show and liking it but I .Just. Can't. Stop. Please don't call DFACS.

Real Housewives of Atlanta
Being an African -American woman living in Atlanta, at first I hated what this show represented and how it depicted black women and Atlanta.  Then it got good and I threw all that BS out the window.  Clearly these ladies do not speak for or represent me or any other black woman in Atlanta or the world. I'm sad to say, I watch this almost religiously and laugh uncontrollably at the tomfoolery.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
No explanation needed.  I'm sure you watch them too.

FRIENDS
This is my all time favorite show!!!  I have all the seasons on DVD and watch the shows over and over and over again.  I am praying daily for a movie or reunion show or something!  Is it bad to secretly hope that every person who was involved with this show (writers, actors, camera men, stylists, stage crew etc.)careers crumble so bad that they will have no choice but to bring this show back forever to support their families???  I need Regina Philange back in my life!!!! (If you aren't a fan you wont get that.)

Family Feud
The families on this show are so hilarious at times!  Hubby and I actually get mad then laugh like crazy watching them.  They say some of the DUMBEST things.  This is our weeknight dinner time TV show.

The Game
I became so invested in this show and I don't know why.  All I know is that come 1.11.2011, it's coming back and I'm thrilled!

Uno Attack
This game is so fun!  I am crazy competitive and I can sit and play this for hours!  Great new twist on a classic!

Scrabble Slam Card Game
This is another game I recently discovered that I would play every day if I could.

Facebook
Nuff Said....

Notice how they are almost all TV Shows??  I seriously have a problem here.  I am currently using about 80%  90% of our DVR Storage space.  I even delete hubby's shows to keep my own.  It's that bad!

What are your guilty pleasures?

Southern Mrs.'s Favorite Things--Websites

Don't make that face!  Oprah does it, why can't I?

The only difference is that I won't be buying you guys one of each of my favorite things.

(Maybe one day so stick around!)

Ok.  Now you can make that face.

Anywho..

I love to read. More importantly...I. LOVE. THE. INTERNET.

LOVE. IT.

I use it so much I should be paid for it…seriously. I have even mastered the art of self diagnosis via WebMD.

By far my favorite thing to do on the Internet is to read blogs (duh) and chat or lurk in forums. Whatever I'm going through, good or bad, 9 times out of 10 someone has written a blog post or started a thread in a forum about it.

One thing I love about forums is that you get information on topics or current events and reviews about products from real people, not someone hired to write an article in favor of or opposing a particular topic of product.

Today, I decided to post my favorite Mommy & Mrs. Websites. Hopefully they provide you with just as much useful information, laughs, tears, and ideas as they have me. I have a lot of other sites I love but these are the ones I am most addicted to. Many of the sites cover both Marriage & Parenting topics.

(not listed in order of preference)

Southern Mrs. Top Mrs./Home Life Websites

LongHairCareFourm--  Yes, this is a website about hair, however they have a number of forums ranging from hair, beauty, fashion, relationships, parenting, religion, politics…you name it they have it. I have learned so much from the women (and a few men) here. This is my most favorite place to surf.

ChocolateBrides-- What can I say about this site…IT'S THE BEST. I found this site about a year before my now husband and I got engaged and I have been hooked ever since. It caters to the African American woman and her lifestyle but they welcome women of all races. Their forums are my favorite place to roam. They help women from pre-engagement, to the wedding, to the marriage, to purchasing and taking care of the home, to the kids, to weight loss…it goes on and on! The love these women display on this forum is almost matchless. There is NO place like CB.

BrownandBridal-- This is another site that caters to the African-American woman/family. I found them pre-engagement and they have helped me through the wedding planning process, the marriage, and beyond. The ladies here are so sweet and are more than willing to share ideas and the triumphs & pitfalls they have experienced in their marriages and lives.

TheNest-- Sister site to TheKnot.com & TheBump.com. Find recipes, budget planners, décor ideas, date night ideas and more! I love the forums here too! My guilty pleasure is reading the hilarious and sometimes outrageous MIL & SIL drama in the Family Matters forum.

BlackAndMarriedWithKids-- This site was created by a 30-something married couple with 4 children. They discuss everything from relationships, kids, politics & current events. They have a great, fresh perspective on a plethora of topics. I have printed out a ton of their articles and discussed them with my friends and family.

iVillage-- I have loved this site ever since I was a single college woman. It covers topics such as relationships, children, beauty, style, women health, etc. They offer a ton of advice for women.

Southern Mrs. Top Mommy Websites

TheBump-- Sister site to TheKnot.com & TheNest.com. This site was my go to site all during my pregnancy. I swear it should have been my home page. EVERYTHING BABY IS HERE! Their forum is my stomping ground and the place I get the most of my information.

BabyCenter-- Another great pregnancy and parenting site. While I was pregnant, I watched the educational videos they have available over and over again. They helped prepare me for labor and were fun to watch for the information on the development of our baby. Sign up for weekly newsletters. The weekly updates they provide from pregnancy through parenthood are priceless!

Parents.com-- I love the magazine so why wouldn't I love the website. Find Ideas, product reviews, recipes, helpful tips, etc. here!

WhatToExpect-- Yet Another fabulous website about pregnancy and parenting.

If you have a few websites you love to frequent, feel free to comment and share them!
